Quake II (PC) Online Deathmatch Part 3 *Loud Sound Warning*
I still suck at this game. This is just more footage of me having fun in the online play of Quake II. I recoded this with Xfire’s screen recorder, so the sound eventually becomes un-synced. Sorry, I don’t know how to fix that. It’s also a little scratchy. I’m playing on TastySpleen.net::Vanilla server. There is still a lively community dedicated to this game, so if you were ever a fan, or are interested in trying the game out then get yourself a copy of the game, get Xfire, or another service like it, and get to fraging. This footage was captured on 04-07-2009

@teh2Dgamer Exactly, these type of games are fun, and I think quake 2 is still one of the fastest FPS games to date. No game has matched it in speed at all IMO. most current gen FPS games are …like slow as slugs.

@DarkShadowRage2 I still don’t understand why Halo is so popular aside from the name. From a gameplay standpoint, it’s a slower, less fun version of these games. The only difference being vehicles, and different weapon sets. Halo is OK, don’t get me wrong, but the slow floaty physics drive me crazy.

How the hell did you get Xfire to record sound? It only records video for me.

Ok. I mainly have just stuck to Tastyspleen DM, but have branched out more lately. I just tried railz for the first time the other day.
I kinda of suck with the rail gun, and though I could use the practice.
If you ever frag DookieCakes, that’s me.
The name allows me to suck, but also makes it kind of humorous if I win (of course I’ve only ever taken first in one round in DM, and I haven’t come close since).

xfire: DeNL82 if u ever want Me to train You in Quake 2. I had mastered Quake 2 on August 31st, 2005,simply 7 years after installing Quake 2 on My “first” computer; of which Quake 2 Mastery of Mine, was brought about by My studying roughly 190, 30 minute recorded demos of My playing of Quake 2′s mod, “rocket Arena 2″; by and large, one of the things of which made my studying of these demos, as erudite of a study as it was, was the fact that I had studied these demos 4 or more times each

@teh2Dgamer Yeah, I thought it was retarded on Bioshock 2, I only get a pistol and a shotgun, but i’m seeing higher level players running around with tommy guns and I can’t even pick up their guns! it’s just really lame :/ I don’t want to wait around in a lobby for people to join, I don’t want to level up to get better guns. I want everyone to start out with the same stuff and every one have a chance to use all the guns at once. Ala Quake.

Cool. Thanks.

@DarkShadowRage2 It depends on the game for loadouts. I do like tactical games (like the old R6 series) for their own reasons, but the leveling up thing is cheap IMO. It not only means that the new player is at a disadvantage for not knowing the maps, or how to play the game that well, but they really are at a disadvantage. In quake a newb can still get lucky on a pro, because you all start on level ground, however in MW, the noob has less life, and inferior equiptment. MW takes Less skill 2 pla

You open Xfire up, and then you click on the “Tools” tab. Then you click on “Options.” THat opens a smaller box where you should see a “Video” tab, and if you look down it should say “Audio device,” and there should be a little box that says “Record Sound.” Check mark the box, and you should be able to record sounds.

January 8th, 2012 at 10:44 am
@teh2Dgamer You aren’t that bad, but it’s a shame they don’t make games like this any more. This game is liquid gold.
January 8th, 2012 at 11:21 am
how do you play this?
January 8th, 2012 at 11:37 am
@DarkShadowRage2 Yep. I’m terrible at the game, and I still have a blast every time I play it online.
January 8th, 2012 at 11:39 am
@DarkShadowRage2 Well, modern online FPS gamers want to be able to hide, and snipe, and get little perks. They can’t handle a game as fast and hectic as this is. I personally love games like this, but the new standards are different from the old. Different, but certainly not better IMO.

You need a copy of the game for starters. I also use Xfire to find servers for the game.
You’ll probably have to download a patch or two for the game first.
January 8th, 2012 at 1:44 pm
Wow, how did I *not* see that before. Oh well, thanks. I might have to buy this off Steam, I played the demo for over 40 hours total or so.
January 8th, 2012 at 1:49 pm

January 8th, 2012 at 2:00 pm
I would, but it’s 3 a.m. here, and I’m tired. I’ll probably be on tomorrow (or I guess later today) though.
